Garden of Babur
Garden of Babur:
Garden of Babur is a historical and recreational garden and the tomb of Babur, king of Gorkani, located in Kabul. The garden was built in 1528 on the orders of Babur, one of the Kings of Gorkani, known in the West as the Great Mongols of India. Babur Garden on the foothills of The Shir Mountain is one of the few monuments in the city that is protected from accidents.
Babur Garden is a historic park in Kabul, Afghanistan, which was also the last resting place of Mughal Emperor Zahir al-Din Muhammad Babur. The garden appears to have been built around 1528 CE, 935 AH. As Babur recalls in his memoirs, "Babur" and "He personally ordered the construction of a garden in Kabul."
The tradition of the Mongol empires and princes has been to build numerous resting places in their lifetimes, and to choose one as their last resting place. The construction of the site was continued by Khalaf Wei, Jahangir, and his stepmother, Ruqiyah Sultan Begum.
Jahangir ordered all kabul gardens to be surrounded by fences, and he also gave a building above his father's grave buried in a garden known as his own name. He built a mosque lower than his father's tomb.
This popular garden of Babur was the founder of the Mongols dynasty of India (Mughaliya-e-Monarchy) and King Babur built this garden in the style of Iranian campuses, and this is another example of the indian Mongols' interest in Iranian culture. The philosophy of building these gardens goes back to the campus or paradise, the floor and step mode of the garden allows for the flow of numerous atmospherics, small waterfalls and fountains. The similarity of this garden to the famous gardens of Kashmir and the historical gardens of Kerman, as well as the Fin Garden of Kashan, confirms the complete relationship between the construction style of this garden and other important and famous gardens in the field of Iranian culture and civilization.
Babur was so interested in the garden that he made a will to leave his posthumous body to the soil of this beautiful garden, and although he died far from the garden and his beloved city of Kabul, in the heart of Indian soil in the city of Agra, his body was eventually transferred there after his death, and now King Babur's tomb is located in Babur Garden in Kabul.
in addition to Babur, other famous people from the Gorkani dynasty are buried here:
